TCP/IP Problem with 98

my network share internet connection within 15 terminal using dial-up. the server (W2k) dial the connection and i installed winroute program in it.
the problem is : one of the terminal couldn’t browse net if the LAN setting in the browser doesn’t use proxy server (which is IP add of the server).
beside that ,mail prog like outlook or pegasus also couldn;t detect the net connection.(have no idea what to do ?)

when I ping to server or other terminal,it send back the value (whick is OK)
What is the problem here ? windows 98 or NIC ?

*note the rest of the terminal doen’t have any problem with browsing when I set to auto detect connection.
