TCP/IP Protocol

I recently formatted the HDD and re-installed windows 95 on my laptop. I also Installed MS Exp 4.0. When trying to dial out the system reconizes the modem but gives me error that cannot detect TCP/IP adapter. I have Installed the TCP/IP adapter 2x using windows 95 diskette but after rebooting PC even though the TCP/IP Protocol is there under Netwoking, it still gives me an error and I cannot complete logging onto Internet even if I get the modem to dial out and after accessing username & password. What should I do?
