Temp files, what to delete

Hello,
I was hoping someone could tell me if there are any temp files I should not delete.We are using win98, mostly for acad and word processing. The ones I am mostly curious about are the temp directories, ie. “_istmp*.dir” and “vbe”. I think I can delete most of the “stand alone” files but I am not sure, especially about those directories.
