The Infamous Dr Watson

I frequently encounter Dr Watson on my cpu here at work. Sometimes I might go for 2 weeks without one and then some days I will get 15 in one day! The problem is a violation related to IE5. The IS Dept has been upgrading software in our network operating NT to applications such as IE5, Office 2000, Outlook 2000, etc. Myself and other workstation users who encounter the same problems have been told by IS that this will continue to happen until they eventually upgrade from NT to Win2000. Until then there is apparently no fix for this nuisance. My question for anybody that can help is do YOU think IS is correct or do you have some other ideas, suggestions, theories that would be useful as I try to navigate this problem in hopes of a more immediate fix.Thanx!
