The regmon.ini File

Recently, our Norton Anti-Virus software discovered a virus in the regmon.ini file and was unable to clean it. I looked at the file and it looks more like a log file than anything, but with the ini extension and not knowing for sure what it was (assuming its related to the registry and some kind of monitor??), I was afraid to delete it. Can you tell me what it is and the best way to proceed?
