How’s this for job security?
On the 23rd of November, my employer sent out a letter saying that due to sustained losses, they were probably going to make some jobs redundant.
On the 25th of November, I received a letter from the MD stating that my job was one of the jobs at risk (I single handedly run the IT for a multi branch operation with over 50 users by the way).
On the 29th of November, I met with the MD who said that the directors had discussed all potential redundancies and the MD himself had put up such a strong case for keeping my position, that they could not consider making it redundant.
Today, I received a further letter stating that my position was still under review, and they would let me know on or before the 6th of January 2006.
Time to hit the employment agencies methinks…
