ThinkPad T-30 Mini PCI compatibility issue

I have a ThinkPad T-30, I just bought a mini PCI card made by Xterasys. I installed it, however, my ThinkPad kept on giving me an error msg telling me “an unauthorized card is installed…” it would not boot unless I removed the card. I called IBM and did a BIOS upgrade, however, it did not work, any of you knows what’s going on?
