Tiny files clogging up my Windows Folder

I have three machines that, for some reason, create thousands of tiny files in my Windows folder. I am running Win98 SE. They apparently aren’t all created at the same time. One computer has an 18+ GB HD. Besides about 4 GB for system files/programs, the rest was filled with this gibberish. The files range in size from about 169 KB to 3.13 MB. The file names are Bccockbi, Bccocngb etc. No one I know has any idea what they are. It fills the HD and crashes the computer every 4-5 months orso. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
