Toggling Ethernet?!

Could anyone let us know if they have ever heard of any kind of “toggle switch” for Ethernet so a particular connection could be toggled on/off? The closest I can find is a “Manual Ethernet Switch”. NTI makes an expensive one ETH-2×1 ($90) and Dalco sells a really cheap simple AB switch ($12.80 – for that price I wonder if it handles even 100TX or just 10). I know that Ethernet by it’s very nature doesn’t like that sort of thing, but if they have a manual switch, why not something to toggle on/off which should be a lot less money?
