Toshiba Reset Tool!

I’ve been told by several Authorized Toshiba Service Centers that I need to bring my laptop to them and have my “bootup” password reset. They claim, they a have a connector that plugs into the parallel port that resets this password.

Has anyone heard of this? Does anyone have the pinout for this connector? I’m sure it is very simple.

I replaced a motherboard on a Toshiba Satellite 330CDS and as soon as it is turned on i get a “Password = ” prompt. I don’t think this is a BIOS password, although it could be. Remember this is a replacement board that did not have the battery hooked up to it.

I’ve tried several default passwords from diferent web sites but it did not work.
