tranfer same hd with same os

I have a 400mhz with a 20HD and a 6HD. I just bought a 1gmhz barebones and I need to install my main 20HD into it. What is the process? I was told to delete all the drivers then intall into new computer and windows will install new drivers when I boot up will this work?
