trouble add/removing windows components

On my Small Business Server 2000, i am getting an error of “Invalid Program arugments were specified” when i go to control panel, add/remove programs, and then click on add/remove windows components. I need this to work in order to fix another problem. Does this suggest that i would have to rebuild the COM+ catalog from scratch? or even have to do a reinstall of the OS?
