trouble installing windows xp with sp2 onto a sata hdd

i’m having trouble installing windows xp with sp2 onto a sata hdd. now i know that this has been covered in great detail before but i’ve gotten to the point that now I can get it to almost start installing but it wont let me install onto the hdd!! I am so frustrated at this point…
