Trouble with WINS seeing NT 4 workgroup

I am a new netadmin intern to a small software co. I have been tasked to eventually set up the new Win2K domain network, which will replace the existing NT4 workgroup. I loaded Win2K onto a new IBM Netfinity 800 P3 server. I set up WINS on the server but the only other computer that I can see in Network Neighborhood is our Linux Firewall/Default gateway. I know there is something I am overlooking. If one of the IT veterans could help a rookie out by pointing me in the right direction it wouldbe greatly appreciated.
