troubleshooting dial up networking

by jfmarten3 . Updated 23 years, 5 months ago

I have set up a dial-up networking server on a win 98 pc that is a part of a win NT network using the guidlines of the MS document Q139710. I also set up a pc at home to connect to the office using dial-up networking using the document Q145843. I have cross referenced both configs using documents I’ve found on Annoyances.org and a previous dial-up network installation at my previous job. My problem is: when I get to the “Enter your Password to connect” dialog box- I enter my username and password and verify the domain (workgroup) entry, then when I hit enter the box pops up again, I enter the information again, hit return and get the Error 691 message (username/password invalid). Yes I am entering my correct username and password. Have I missed a step? Do I need to change a setting on the Win NT network server?
