Troubleshooting with Event Viewer

Is there a publication that helps you interpret error codes that you get in event viewer on Windows 2000 Server? I am looking for a publication that will tell me what to check based on a particular error code in event viewer. The explanaion of theerror code is often as confusing as the error code itself.
