Tunnel Connection, can’t see resource

Scenario:

Windows 2000 Pro, connected to the Internet, tunneled in to a remote office. Mail and regular web browsing work fine, but when I try to pull up a public web page hosted on the remote network, it will not display. If I disconnect the VPN connection, it comes up just fine.

On another machine running XP I have no problems under the same scenario.

2 questions –

Is there a way to change the network settings in 2000 to make this work?

What does XP do differently that it works automatically?
