two way trusts

Ok stupid question but im almost bald and drinking heavuly…A lab has been setup with 2 groups across a virtual 2 site network. Any ideas why I can see the other domains pdc with mine. ping the other machine but not be able to establish a 2 way trust. both machines are running dhcp, dns and gateway services for netware. any help would really be appreciated. thanks Bobby
