Ultra100 Bios problem

After applying a BIOS update I am getting a message saying ‘Ultra100 Bios not installed’ to which the machine freezes. It does not continue with F1. I have reset CMOS and checked every setting in the BIOS. Has anyone had a similar problem ro or could offer any help? The mobo is an ATA100 694D PRO (Award Modular v6.00). The problem started after bios update (correct one). Have also tried using all 4 ide ports but with no success. Any help would be appreciated.
