Unable to contact IP driver error code 2

by ladlenits . Updated 24 years, 1 month ago

I am running a windows XP machine on a NT4.0 network. I had just installed a program i downloaded from the internet that required me to restart my computer. This was a program that monitors activity on the computer. When I restarted my computer and logged in I had no network connection. I thought it might be a virus so i scanned my HD and came up with nothing. I ran ipconfig and it said there was an internal error: request not supported , Unable to query routing information. I tried rejoining my domain and that didnt work either. I connected another computer to the same cable and it worked fine. So i hooked the bad computer back up, pinged the loopback address on my network adapter and it said unable to contact IP driver, error code2. Ive tried reseting my ip settings with the “netsh int ip reset” comand and still nothing. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks alot.
