Unable to Delete Emails in Outlook 6.0

I run Win 2000 Pro, using Internet Explorer 6.0. For the past couple weeks all has been well with Outlook Express but starting this morning, I have been unable to delete read emails or spam. I’ve tried right clicking on the mouse, clicking on the tool bar delete button, pushing the delete key on the keyboard. I can’t even drag the email to the delete folder. Has anyone experienced anything like this or know of a remedy?
