Unable to find or edit boot.ini

Good evening peers,
Found something really odd or if I am not doing thing correctly,however I created a partition on my win2000 server.Notified me of editing my partition boot ini to reflect
the changes.used the routine like in nt40,oddly no sign of the file.Searced my system partition.The OS could not locate”no files found”.Switched to the DC.Same request,
Same Results.Any thoughts guys.I am lost on this one.Had to delete the partition or I wont get in.Thanx in advance !Aziz
