unrecognized devices

i had to completely reinstall windows 98 second edition. since then my pci ehternet controller, pci multimedia audio device, pci serial controller and ps/2 compatible mouse are not recognized. all are installed correctly and show no errors in the device manager. I Really need an answer on how to fix this.
