Upgraded to XP & partition: access deny

by lksubscribe . Updated 23 years, 2 months ago

I have my HD divided into 3 partitions. C: system, D: documents E: misc. I upgraded from W2K to WXP pro, reformatted/installed OS on C: drive. When installation was done, I get an access denied trying to open the D drive. I checked the propertiesand it said RAW. The E: drive is still intact with no data loss. How can I recover my documents on the D: drive. First of all, what do you think happened? Second, how can I recover my files? Can anyone recommend a solution please?

Someone suggested that I reinstall W2K and see if I can access my drive back, but that didnt work. BTW, when I was installing W2K and it listed the partitions, during the install D: was marked as listed as NTFS, but in after the install it’s marked as RAW.
