Upgrading Intranet Server

I think I saw this subject listed before however nobody seemed to be interested in helping the individual. They were more interested in having him integrating all new technology intead of helping him solve his current problem. Hopefully I won’t run into the same problem….
I am currently running my company Intranet on a WinNT 4.0 machine running IIS 4.0 however do to space constraints I am upgrading to a Win2k server. What I need to know is how do I make a smooth transition from one machine to the next?? And let me throw a monkey wrench in here. I have never setup a webserver before. I usually handle the phonesystems however since the Web dude was transferred to Toronto, I have been assigned his duties. Take pity on me guys and help me out.
