Upgrading Memory- Not Detected

I’m working with a client who wants to upgrade their Compaq 5714 Desktop. It currently has 64 MB of memory onboard. We went and obtained the upgrade memory, and installed it. The catch is the memory isn’t detected at all. Going into the BIOS doesn’tgive an option to detect or specify the memory settings. Any Ideas?
