Upon shutdown illegal operation, TaskMon

Everytime I shutdown my computer. I receive an illegal op. error. TaskMon caused invalid page fault in module with several registers listed after.
This cauaes me to perform 1 extra step to turn off my comp. Have tried several things without being able to correct it. Do not know what TaskMon is.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
