URGENT: ARCServer – ARCBatch facility to

by johnlsman . Updated 24 years, 9 months ago

Objective:
We want to develop a front end program that allows the use to archive their material without knowing how to use Arcserver. Basically, the user will be presented with a highly customized screen and allowed to choose what to backed. Based on this we will then generate a script file and kick it off using arcbatch utility. The data to be archieve resides on a Domino 5.0.8 server, the version of ArcServe we use is ArcServe2000 Advance Edition.

Problem:
We want to know if it possible to use the ARCBatch script utility to backup/restore Notes database through Notes Agent. We have studied the ARCBatch document from Computer Associates’ web site and it does not talk about backing up using Notes agent. Using ARCManager to manually generate .asx file is not feasible given that we want to isolate the ARCManager from the user. If possible, can you tell us how it can be done. Are they any third party tools/utility that work with ARCServe that allows me to achieve my objective.
