USB flash memory stick

I’m using Vista Home Premium on a Dell. Suddenly, my computer cannot open my flash memory sticks – they open well on other XP computers. Also, I have a mouse that I plug on one of the USB ports and its working well.
I tried updating drivers, and all mention they are up to date.
