USB Keyboard and CDRW

I am using an USB adapter for my keyboard and when I installed a Phillips CDRW, the CDRW did not load up. When I took out the USB adapter and just used the regular PS/2 connection, the CDRW loaded up fine. I don’t know what the deal is with the Phillips CDRW. Other CDROMs work fine. Thanks.
