USB printer and USB mouse conflict

I have a compaq IJ600 USB printer and a Logitech cordless optical USB mouse. Whenever I print the mouse is disabled while the printer is active and for about 2-3 minutes afterwards. It’s not a big problem, but if I want to click on ‘cancel print’ I can’t do it. Any suggestions?
