USB problem

Compaq Presario 6320CA, Windows XP Home with SP1. In device manager all (4) USB controllers have exclamation marks (driver not installed). when trying to reinstall drivers I get the message that “access is denied”. I made an account with administrative priviledges and deleted the USB controllers. They were detected on reboot, but I got the same message “access is denied”. Any ideas?
