Hi, we had one computer a P4 with XP SP1 (it will not let us install SP2 and I have no idea why but that’s another post). Sound card worked fine for Skype calls with a headset. Then I purchased a Skype phone for my elderly mom who cannot get it thru’ her head that you can call someone over the Internet with a headphone and you are still talking on the phone. Now that sound card will work with the USB phone and it will play sound but you cannot use the mike on a headset.
I figured removing the USB phone would work but it didn’t.
I got a 2nd PC a P4 dual core with a less fancy sound card and plugged the USB phone into that. I cannot get sound out of it via headphone or speaker.
In both cases the USB phone works just fine for talking and listening. It has to have done something to the sound cards. Has anyone else has this problem and if so how did you solve it? Do you have to buy a new card? Is there some sort of internal setting on teh sound cards? I have never investigated this before and help would be greatly appreciated.
