Use a Microsoft Query in Access

I am using a program called USQL to connect to a RS6000 to retriev data. Right now the way I am suppose to do it is to Use Excell and get data then use Microsoft Query to get the data using the data connection created with USQL. Then Microsoft Query returns the data to Excell. I then import the Excell into Access to run my report. How can I connect or link an Access table to either the Microsoft Query or the data connection. If I goto get “External Data” then choose either Import or link in Access I can choose for a file type ODBC Database Then choose my data connection but nothing appears to happen.
