User access to home directory

by hakan . Updated 23 years, 4 months ago

Hi
I have the following odd errror.
My old server broke down and this was the only NT4 pdc, so couldn’t acces my user accounts and so on. Luckily the disks were ok.
I installed a new server with windows 2000 since the new server wouldnt work with NT4. I then connected the old harddrive with user folders, and I was able to copy data to the new server. I had to set up user rights and so.
I have now the this strange error that users can’t access their homedirectories although the rights have been set up. If they belong to administrators group they can access. They can see their folder but not browse it.
I think there is something with ownership, but I can’t get that to work. Can’t choose any user to take ownership. What can I do? I don’t want users to belong to domain admin group….

Regards
