User account disabled

I have one of my users that dials into a RAS server(NT 4.0,SP6),which works for one session. The next time the user tries to login, the account is disabled. The number of login attempts is set at 5. The user is running a Compaq laptop with NT 4.0 workstation/SP6. This is driving us nuts trying to find an answer to this. Please help.
