User Profile Path and permissions

by tzmueller . Updated 25 years, 3 months ago

I have a NT4.0 domain. We use NT roaming profiles. I have setup a folder on a server with a hidden share (like d:\profilent = profilent$) and setup their user profile path as \\server\profilent$\%username%)

so when I setup a new user and they logon to a NT computer for the first time they will auto create a folder in the profilent folder as their username with permissions of Administrator=full, backup operator=rx and user=full (which is the way it was setup for the root folder).

It HAS been working fine for 2 years. I have been added lots of new users lately. Now it doesn’t work properly. When it auto creates the folder only the user has access to it and owns the folder as well. As administrator I have to take ownership of the folder and reset all the permissions manually.

It worked before, whats wrong with it now???
