User Profiles

by dnme . Updated 25 years ago

recently one of our machines began giving us problems with its user profiles. Any user who tried logging on got the following msg’s…

User Environment
1. The operating systme was unable to load locally stored profile. New profile will be created (1450)(with a 30 sec. countdown)

2. Your profile was not successfully loaded but you have been lodgged on with the default profile system. Please correct problem and log off.

This occured everytime – no user would be successfully profiled. The only exception was if the administrator logged on but again on logging out and back in again, the same error occured.

We have of course removed their profiles when first seeing these errors from profiles directory and user manager.

We overcame this problem by wiping the disk and re-installing os. Now however, a second machine has began giving us the same problem.

Is this a virus!!! or has anyone come across this problem and managed a fix without a wipe.
All replies appreciated.
