Ive got Windows NT Server 4.0 Small Business Edition with Exchange 5.5 and about 60 COMPUTER accounts. The problem im having is that when new computers are added to the domain, no users who log on to the computer can access internet based POP or SMTP mail servers. They can all access the Exchange server on our network, however.
This problem does not occur if you use a current computer’s account instead of creating a new account. In other words if you take a brand new computer and rename it to a current account on the server, it can access any POP or SMTP server. But if you give it a brand new computer account, the problem occurs.
This occurs on any operating system and any combination of Windows and other programs. The computers have no problem talking to our ISP’s web server. Its just the mail server that we have problems with.
