Using IPX protocol on a 5 vlan network

Hello,
We have a Windows NT4 network spread over 5 local buildings and vlans. At the moment we use TCP/IP as the only protocol. My question is could the IPX or Nwlink protocols also be used over this setup. There is no access to the internet or any other network required. Thank you.
