Validity of a database in court?

What would one have to do to be able to present a database as evidence in court?

Would a timestamp, MAC address, IP, username, domain, SID, etc. be sufficient enough to make a case? Since this data could be modified and the guilty party could usethat as a defense, what can a company do to ensure the validity of data?
