VCache/Virtual Memory Windows 98

What is the difference in adding VCahce (MinFileCache & MaxFileCache) information in the system.ini file and Adding these setting under Control Pannel – System Applet – Preformance – Virtual Memory? And if they are the same Why then if you add the VCache Information in the System.ini file does the System Applet – Preformance – Virtual Memory not pick up on this i.e. the setting are not displayed.
