Verifying DMI Pools

I have Win98 and needed to get rid of a virus. So I cleaned the harddrive and now need to reformat. I ran fdisk and deleted and the partition and re-created it. Now I want to reformat the harddrive; but when I insert the floppy in Drive A and with WIN98 2nd edition in the CD-ROM, and then boot up the system, it only gets to the part that says “Verifying DMI Pools”. How can I get un-hung from this part of the booting? and What does it mean any way? Thanks!
