Very slow My Computer icon

When I double click on the My Computer icon on my desktop it takes about 2 minutes to open. This only happens the first time I open My Computer after turning on the computer. After the first time it only takes a couple of seconds. But when I shutdown and restart it happens again
Any suggestions ?
