I have Windows 98SE and Plus installed on a machine with 512MB memory, a Geforce MX400 video card, and aGateway VX700 monitor. Not lately but I have used the “clone” feature of the video card to display the output to a TV. Recently the display doesn’t seem to refresh properly. It leaves short black lines here and there, and occasionally thicker lines across the monitor. The machine locks up occasionally with no BSOD or “not responding”. Even Ctl-Alt-Del doesn’t bring up the “Close Program” box. Any ideas? Shy of anything else I plan on replacing the video card.
