Video Card…

I have an XFX GeForce 7600 GT, and the box says it requires a pentium 4 cpu. Does this mean it does not support an Duo Core CPU? I have the video card set up with a Intel Core 2 Duo CPU, and the motherboard does not POST. is this CPU/Videocard combo the cause of it?

I have no means of testing any of the parts on another computer, as this is the most recent pc I have, as in, it’s the only one that supports duo core CPUS and PCI-E X16 slots.
