video compatability issue

by twuf . Updated 23 years, 4 months ago

I am building Pentium 4 based computer. MB has integrated 2d/3d graphics and a 4X AGP slot. For furture upgrading i intend on adding graphics card in AGP slot but i want to use an LCD monitor. I see nothing in specs of MB that says it supports LCD technology. It is MSI MS-6714.020 MB. I assume i cannot use VGA compatable LCD monitor with the integrated graphics because the MB won’t support it?. I assume if i buy a 4X AGP Video card that has DVI support i can use a LCD or does the motherboard still require LCD support?? Do i need to buy a MB that specifically supports LCD or does the video card take care of that? Please help
