video problem

Hi,
Here is my problem. I have a k7som+ motherboard with 256 mb ram 40 gig hard drive on board video, DVD drive cdrw drive with pro1400 cpu, with win xp home with all updates. Now the problem, when I start my computer, I can hear everything startup except I don?t have video. I unplugged everything and tried to boot. Still nothing. So I installed a pci video card. Still nothing. So I replaced the motherboard with a new one. After installation, the first time I booted up, it did the same thing. I tested the power supply with a tester, power supply was good. Then I connected the power supply back to the motherboard and it booted up ok. On the second boot up, my video started acting up again. I checked my ram and hard drive in another system. They were ok. The computer would boot up till it got to the windows welcome xp screen. Then it would look funny and seem to freeze. I ordered a new power supply, and going to try that. Anyone have a suggestion. Thanks
