Windows XP Professional all of a sudden will not setup the swapfile correctly when it boots up. I get an error message that basically states virtual memory is low or something like that. When I go to the system properties and try to manually set the min and max on the swapfile, I get an error message that says something like Windows has setup a temporary swap file, go to properties and manually set the swap file limits. I do this and when I reboot, the settings have not taken effect and I amright back where I started from. I have gone to the Microsoft Knowledgebase and found some references to virtual memeory, but none of them address this problem. I even tried moving the swap file to a different partition with no luck. Finally, after several days of trying to fix the problem, I have done a clean install of Win XP, deleting and recreating the partition, reformating and installing. Windows seems to be operating perfectly now. What gives?
