I am running a NT4.0 Server with an external modem with an IP Share device. Last week 2-3 users started having problems with their office 2000 apps (word & excel). I tried reinstalling W98 on 1 machine and it worked only temporarily before the problems recurred. Now today the same computer is unable to connect to our local network. So far this is the only computer with this symptom. 2 days later another computer came up with the same problem. It seems to be most of the computers that are accessing the Internet/Email, however not all of them. I for instance, was the first to experience a problem with Excel and I reinstalled W98 and have had no problems since.
IF this is a nasty virus (which scares me, we are a small company withsmall resources), then I do not have a virus scan for our NT server. Can anybody recommend one?
Or any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
